New York City-inspired elements were featured on the Mets’ City Connect jerseys, unveiled Friday.

Starting April 27, the jerseys will be worn for each Saturday home game against the Cardinals, except for the June 1 game against the Diamondbacks.

The design features purple accents that symbolize the 7 NYC Subway Service, transporting fans to Citi Field for every game. In conjunction with Dri-FIT ADV technology, the advanced Vapor Premier chassis provides outstanding sweat-wicking performance.

This City Connect Mets jersey features the No. 12 of Francisco Lindor in a black and purple scheme. Other options include Pete Alonso and Francisco Alvares.

We wanted to honor different parts of the city that connect to our home in Queens with our new City Connect uniforms,” Mets chief marketing officer Andy Goldberg said.

“Mets fans across New York and beyond can wear this streetwear style look with pride on the bridges, trains, and streets.”

Several Big Apple elements are featured on the jerseys, including:

  • Circles and diamonds from the subway system
  • The color purple in homage to the 7-Line train that goes directly to Citi Field
  • “The World’s City” inscription highlights New York’s diversity

Using the IYKYK acronym – “If you know, you know” – and the Mets logo between the first K and second Y, the Mets released a hype video featuring the new threads.

According to the Mets, a second video, set to Gang Starr’s “Work,” features BMX rider Nigel Sylvester, rapper/producer Large Professor, artist Futura 2000, influencer Jaeki Cho and actor/writer Anthony Ramos, along with players Edwin Diaz, Kodai Senga and Francisco Lindor.

“You know New York,” Diaz says, before Senga follows with “You know it’s the World’s City,” and Lindor concludes: “You know how much of it went into this jersey.”
